Calrec are Institutionalised!
Calrec marked
the debut of their brand new fully digital demo room with a visit from
the Institute of Broadcast Sound (IBS) at the company's Nutclough Mill
HQ in Hebden Bridge.
After a welcome lunch, IBS members enjoyed a complete factory tour which
encompassed all stages of console design and manufacture including R&D,
engineering, surface mount, wiring, and test departments. Members were
then given hands on demonstrations of the Alpha, Sigma and Zeta 100 consoles
and the Hydra Networking system in the new demo facility.
"The demonstration houses all three of our latest digital designs
and all sources are networked onto the consoles using our Gigabit Ethernet
based Hydra network," says Managing Director Stephen Jagger.
"The room will be used for product demonstrations and customer training,
and for in-house software test, and critical listening evaluation. Digital
multitrack and hard disk recording is also provided so we can replicate
as closely as possible a broadcast sound control room environment."
