Calrec Engineer Success for Society Visit

Calrec opened their doors to an influx of engineers when 20 members of the Audio Engineering Society paid a visit to Calrec’s Nutclough Mill HQ in Hebden Bridge.

The AES arrived in time for lunch before embarking on a full factory inspection and tour of manufacturing facilities, taking in engineering, surface mount, module assembly, module test, wiring, EMC and desk test departments.

The tour included live demonstrations of Calrec’s new MY19 MYDATA surface mount machine, one of the fastest component placement machines available, as well as the SPEA Flying Probe test machine and BGA inspect and rework station.

Calrec, who produce over 95% of their consoles in house at Nutclough Mill, have also recently invested in a second DATRON machine and additional engraving machinery in their engineering department.

"It was a very interesting and very enjoyable afternoon, and quite an eye-opener," says AES Executive Director Roger Furness. "It's tremendous to see a thriving British company who are designing and building consoles to such a high standard."

AES members were also given hands on demonstrations of the Alpha, Sigma and Zeta consoles and the Hydra Networking system in Calrec’s extensive demo facility.
