Zeta Testimonials

"The Calrec Zeta console was a natural choice. Calrec's C2 consoles are the most familiar to us at Meridian, but Calrec kit is in service around ITV.

"Digital is a more future-proof standard and gives us considerably more flexibility. The Zeta gives us value for money, flexibility and supreme ease of configuration, while our experience with Calrec has always been positive."
Paul Stevenson, Controller News Projects and Systems, ITV, UK

"The Zeta is an integral part of the Fly pack and suited the parameters of our vision in terms of weight and power.
"(The Zeta) comes with Calrec's reputation for reliability and quality - it is great to have a piece of equipment of this kind of complexity which powers on and runs almost straight from the box."
Lee Blanco, Sound Supervisor, AMV, USA

"What's great about the Zeta is that it is a small desk which depending on configuration can be very large. It is fast and very easy to use - I was able to get audio in and out within minutes.
"The Zeta fires up straight away, and it is up and running with the minimum of cables, but the level of redundancy which makes it a real broadcast console. During the demos I was encouraged to hot pull cards and turn off the PC to see what happened, and the audio was not affected at all."
Ian Vysick, Senior Audio Engineer, AMV, USA

"The Zeta is easy to use, and familiarity with Calrec's range of analogue consoles (also their other digital consoles), make it a less daunting experience - you quickly feel at home within a few minutes.
"There are several features which differentiate the Zeta from other digital consoles on the market; having only two layers means less possible confusion, the ability to change layers on a per channel basis, dynamics available on every channel. Also there is no shared processing - all functions are available on every channel at all times - and the PC is only used for control and is not part of the console architecture. "
Andy Unsworth, Andy Unsworth Broadcast Services Ltd, UK

"The decision to opt for the Zeta was due to the extra flexibility offered by going digital. Using AES for internal VTR and grams machines free up more analogue I/O ports and more channels are available on the control surface, with the flexibility to move groups, stereo and mono paths as required.
"The Track Sends will probably become the biggest advantage over analogue consoles, not just for multi-tracks and VT ISO feeds but also for additional program mix minus feeds for earpieces and fold-back.
"The console will regularly be used for live broadcasts - twice a week on average.
"That the desk is based on existing technology from the Alpha and Sigma consoles, and that this technology has been developed to make the Zeta even more intuitive and user friendly than before, has largely allayed any concerns.
"The system redundancy and also the fact that port assignments and swapping of paths can be performed on the console itself as well as the storage of set-ups within the console gives greater security against failure."
Mark Cattel, Arena Broadcast Ltd, UK

"The Zeta is our only audio production console and has a very heavy live workload, so I needed to ensure that the console we purchased had a proven track record as well as many redundant features. Being a scaled down version of the Alpha, the Zeta carries the time proven reliability and quality that Calrec is known for.
"Although we have had no experience with Calrec other than listening to people in the industry, I felt confident that the track record of Calrec products would carry over to the Zeta line."
Dale Vennes, KJRH, USA
